Seafair Haven 2012 - Festival of the Milford Haven Waterway

Seafair Haven is a maritime festival which takes place biennially, with advice from and partnership with the well established Semaine du Golfe festival in the Morbihan, Brittany.

The festival has been a great success in 2006, 2008 and 2010 and plans are now underway to organise a fourth Seafair Haven between 23rd and 30th June 2012 for traditional and classic vessels and long boat rowing to celebrate the magnificent Milford Haven Waterway in Pembrokeshire.

From the sheltered upper reaches, to the dramatic scenery of St Ann's Head, there will be opportunities to meet up with old friends and make new ones whilst enjoying the heritage, culture and welcome of the picturesque Host Ports. We are keen for participants and visitors alike to experience diverse flotillas and a warm, Pembrokeshire welcome while they explore the beauty and serenity of this famous Waterway.

This year there is no EEC funding. However we are seeking sponsorship from various sources, and introducing a fee of £30 for the sail and oar flotillas and £60 for keel boats. Facilitires for paying on line will be available within a week or so (Beginning of February)

Seafair 2012 will be based on Milford Marina and docks where extra pontoons will accomodate 50 extra boats at the very modest charge of £5 per head. Lawrenny village will be the other location, where there is a better infrastructure for social events. There is a good pub, camp site, yacht station, and sports club. Additional showers will be available this year. The Yacht Station will provide a good service for storage of trailers, and facilitating launching and recovery of boats, as well as the provision of mooorings.

There will be a welcoming day, reflecting that at the Semaine du Golfe, from 10am to 4pm at Lawrenny,on Tuesday 26th June, replacing the very successful social event at the Coedcenlas field in 2010.
