Building on the success of the inaugural SeaFair festival in 2006, Pembrokeshire extends a warm invitation to all owners of traditional craft to participate in SeaFair Milford Haven 2008. We welcome all enthusiasts for the culture and lifestyle of traditional seamanship.
Over the centuries the Milford Haven estuary has provided refuge, support and recreation for crews of all nations as they have been drawn to this unique waterway. To celebrate the Golden Jubilee of the Milford Haven Port Authority, SeaFair Milford Haven 2008 will once again be offering our friends renewed hospitality and extended opportunities to cruise over 22 nautical miles between the host ports of Milford Haven, Pembroke, Neyland and Llangwm, with visits to Angle, Lawrenny, Cresswell Quay and Landshipping. At each of these locations, our visitors will be welcomed by the communities along the length of the waterway in a celebration of friendship and good will.
If you have a traditional craft, from the smallest coracle to the largest tall ship, you are welcome to apply to participate in SeaFair 2008. Your boat will be allocated to one of four flotillas, as follows:
Once again SeaFair 2008 will provide opportunities for the flotillas to ‘raid’ the welcoming communities. There will also be races and a combined Grand Parade of all the flotillas proceeding in company down the Haven. Free moorings and launching arrangements will be made available and all harbour dues waived.
